Topics and abstracts

Caught or Taught (Infants, Primary & Middle)

This highly thought provoking and practical session will explore the many ways that key adults in a child’s life can help them to develop a love of reading.

It will focus on powerful ways adults can model the pleasure of reading, give tips on how to choose material for children to read and offer techniques on how to read to and with children.

Back to Basics (Infants, Primary & Middle)

This session has been created in response to the need to return to the fundamental reasons we work with children.

At a time when practitioners are spending less time teaching and more time observing, assessing and responding to ever increasing paperwork, this session will ask some important questions relating to why and how we educate children?

It will explore the important role of adults in the classroom, the creation of an appropriate and memorable curriculum and ways of managing and engaging children. This session could change the way you work with children for ever!
